Use the Risk Assistant

Use the assistant to think through an existing risk and find ways to manage it. Choose a prompt to start.

Start with Your Question

Open a risk from Risk. Under its description, choose a prompt, or select Find with AI in Controls. You can also type your own question.

  • Analyse this risk describes what the linked controls cover and miss, and whether the rating looks reasonable given those controls.
  • Find controls searches your controls register for controls that fit this risk. If nothing fits, it can check your policies or suggest new ideas.
  • Suggest new controls lists up to five ideas for what your current controls leave uncovered, then asks which ones you’d like to take on.

The assistant checks your existing controls first, so you can reuse activities your RTO already carries out.

Review Before Adding

For an existing control, read the suggestion and check that the activity really applies to this risk. Select Confirm Link to link it.

When you pick ideas from Suggest new controls, the assistant prepares:

  • a continuous improvement for activities you don’t do yet
  • a control for activities you already do, or when you ask for one

For a new control, select Create to open the form. Review the description, responsible positions and linked policies, then select Create & Link. Check that the activity is in place before relying on it in an assessment.

For an improvement, select Create CI, review the form and save it. You can also ask the assistant to raise an improvement for any gap. It’s linked to the risk when you create it.

Common Issues

The assistant isn't available

Ask the person managing your access profile to check the permissions needed for the risk assistant.

I want suggestions for new risks, not controls

Use the Risk Library. Its Suggested for you source uses your Operational Profile to help discover new risks. The assistant described here works on a risk you’ve already created.
