Validation Program
The Validation Program shows your 5-year validation schedule. It automatically plans when each unit should be validated based on its risk level.
Before You Start
We recommend creating validation strategies for all qualifications, skill sets, and accredited courses before creating your program. This ensures your program reflects a complete, risk-based approach from day one.
When Units Appear in the Program
A unit will appear in the validation program when it has:
- A risk level set — High, Medium, or Low
- A next validation date — when the unit is next due for validation
Units missing either of these won’t appear in the program. RTOSafe shows a warning at the top of the page if any units are missing.
How Validation Frequency Works
The risk level determines how often a unit is validated:
| Risk Level | Typical Frequency |
|---|---|
| High | More frequent (e.g., twice per year) |
| Medium | Standard (e.g., once per year) |
| Low | Less frequent (e.g., every 2–3 years) |
You can adjust these frequencies in Validation Settings to match your organisation’s capacity.
What Happens Next
- The program generates a 5-year view of when each unit is due for validation
- As you complete validations, the schedule updates automatically
- Units with higher risk levels appear more frequently in your schedule
