Set Up Document Types

RTOSafe comes with common document types already set up. You can add your own or customise the existing ones.


Understanding Document Categories

There are three types of staff documents, each with different fields:

Non-Expiring CredentialsQualifications that don’t expire (degrees, certificates, TAE qualifications)Date awarded, issuing provider, reference number
General Purpose DocumentsEverything else (resumes, contracts, references)Document date only

Some document types are locked and can’t be edited. Create a new type instead if you need something similar.


Adding a Document Type

Select Add Document Type

Enter the name and select a category

Select Save


What Happens Next

  • The new document type appears when staff upload documents
  • You can now require this document type for specific positions

Common Issues

Can't edit a document type

Some types are locked. Create a new type instead.

Need to remove a document type

Archive it from the document types list — this hides it from new uploads but keeps existing documents.
