Bulk Scope Import
If you need to assign scope for many staff members at once, RTOSafe support can do a bulk import for you. You’ll need to prepare a CSV file with the right format.
CSV Format
Your file needs three columns: Email, ProductCode, and ScopeType.
| Column | What to enter |
|---|---|
| The staff member’s email address (must match their RTOSafe profile) | |
| ProductCode | The unit code, e.g. BSBWHS411 — must be a unit (not a qualification) in your RTO’s active scope |
| ScopeType | One of the four scope types below |
Scope Types
Use one of these exact values in the ScopeType column:
| Value | Meaning |
|---|---|
Trainer | Can deliver training only |
Assessor | Can assess only |
TrainerAndAssessor | Can do both |
AssessorUnderSupervision | Can assess with oversight |
Variations like “Trainer and Assessor” (with spaces) will also work.
Example
| ProductCode | ScopeType | |
|---|---|---|
| jane.smith@example.com | BSBWHS411 | TrainerAndAssessor |
| jane.smith@example.com | BSBCMM211 | Trainer |
| tom.jones@example.com | BSBWHS411 | Assessor |
What We Check
When we process your file, we verify:
- The email matches an active staff member in your RTO
- The unit code is in your RTO’s active scope
- The scope type is valid
Rows that don’t pass these checks are skipped — we’ll let you know which ones.
If a staff member previously had scope for a unit but it was removed, the import will reactivate it.
